Now for the Latest Update

It has been quite a while since I posted here, but it's time to get things moving again.  Ruth's Room is coming up on its 3rd year of providing free clothing and other necessities to the people of Humboldt County.  We were interviewed today as part of the Spirit ofthe Northcoast segment on KIEM.  (That is the local NBC affiliate here in Humboldt County.)  Here we are in all our glory....hahaha.....To GOD be the glory!

We will also be having our first fashion show, Ruth's Room Fashion Show: GET YOUR GLAM ON.  The event will showcase some of the great finds that have been discovered in the bags and boxes that come through the doors of Ruth's Room.  Stay tuned for future updates.

Below are a few pictures of some of the volunteers at RR.

what is this...Ruth's Room?"

Ruth's Room was started by Starla Teasley to answer the need for clothing and household goods for a community that has seen a financial decline in the past decade. Several area lumber mills have closed and with those closures other industries were impacted as well. The congregation of Rio Dell Baptist agreed with Starla and generously provides space to house all the clothing and supplies. Ruth's Room is open Tuesdays from 10 am through 1 pm and offers its services without any income verification. All clothing and household items are offered absolutely free. We like to say that donations are accepted but are NOT required.

Stay tuned for pics and upcoming excitement from the staff and volunteers of Ruth's Room!
